A Paris Couture Moment

Have you heard about the boy genius of the couture world, Max Alexander?

This incredibly talented and imaginative ten-year-old designer recently presented his latest creations during Paris Fashion Week at the Palais Garnier, the historic home of the Paris Opera House. Working with vintage fabrics—including a recycled parachute—full of whimsy, playfulness and joy contrasted with structured elements. Max continues to prove that creativity knows no age limit. In fact, he is now the youngest couture designer on record.  I cannot wait to see what is next from him

Claudia Endler Designs had the honor of adorning several of his runway looks with bold, large-scale statement rings.

As a little girl, I always dreamed about fashion shows—the drama of the runway, the clothing, and of course the jewelry that completed the look. Many years later, after my own career representing fashion designers, I find myself here as a jewelry designer… part of a couture runway show in Paris. Something I never imagined would truly happen.

This moment was made possible through the visionary direction of Lisa M. Berman of WAM (Wearable Art Museum), who curated works from talented artists around the world for this extraordinary presentation held at the Palais Garnier on March 3rd.  And of course, my sincere thanks to Max Alexander for selecting Claudia Endler Designs as part of his Paris debut!

On March 22nd WAM will be hosting a special afternoon celebrating the jewels from the runway presentation—and there may even be an opportunity to rub elbows with Max Alexander himself. Fingers crossed!

The jewels featured in the show collection are also available online through the Wearable Art Museum.
